The above true quote, dated July 30, makes me wonder just what they’ve got first graders reading these days. Fifty Shades of Grey, apparently. View the first of three posts here.

Had a big family reunion last weekend, heard about lots of adult cousins’ views on this book, as well as their spouses (spice?). When I mentioned the book, every single person got a little smile on their face and looked off to the side, men and women both. Quite a few have read it, or plan to.

One of my cousins, who I’ll call “Kimberly” because that is her name, received this book as a gift from her hubby. She likes romances, and she likes this book, and he likes that she likes it. She bring that happy energy back to her husband, and “Lohnathan” doesn’t mind a bit.

Like I always say, what you get up to in the privacy of your own dungeon . . . uh, what I mean is, if consenting adults want to get up to . . . whatever they get up to . . .  I can’t imagine anyone would have any problem with it.  Now that I think of it, maybe everyone else has been doing the “Fifty Shades” thing for years! Here I am only just finding out about the latest trend! How embarrassing.

Some commentators seem to have a problem with the consent issue. For the record, the behavior is totally consensual  in this book — don’t see how anyone can misunderstand that.  More tomorrow!
